Bundesliga Week 29 June 1 Betting Preview

FC Köln vs RB Leipzig

Time: 230 PM EST

Odds: FC Köln +450, Draw +340, RB Leipzig -195

Last Game: 4-1 Leipzig on November 23rd 2019

The final game of the week sees mid table Köln host Champions League hopefuls RB Leipzig.  Hosts Köln come into this match following a 3-1 away loss at Hoffenheim.  Currently sitting in 12th place, 4 sports and 7 points out of the relegation playoff spot, Köln look unlikely to get sucked into the relegation fight and a win here would all but ensure their spot in the Bundesliga for another year.  Sebastiaan Bornauw is serving a suspension and will be unavailable for this one.

RB Leipzig come into this game on the heels of a 2-2 draw at home to red hot Hertha Berlin.  The Red Bulls remained in 3rd for another week, but now Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayer Leverkusen sit only 2 points back of them in 4th and 5th respectively.  Marcel Halstenberg will miss this game due to suspension while Emil Forsberg looks set to return.

These two sides have only met 5 times previously, with Köln taking 1 game, Leipzig taking 3 and 1 match ending in a draw.  Leipzig are clearly the better side here and will be motivated to retain their 3rd place position.  Köln have struggled of late and are winless in their last 4, a stretch that includes draws to relegation fodder Mainz and Fortuna Dusseldorf, so they don’t inspire much confidence here against one of the best teams in the league.  Expect a high scoring affair when the leagues 3rd best offense meets one of the most porous defenses.
