The only game of midweek is a game week 24 match that was postponed due to Frankfurt’s Europa League schedule.  Hosts Werder Bremen are coming off a 1-0 win away at struggling Schalke 04.  They remain in 17th but sit only 2 points back of Fortuna Düsseldorf and the relegation playoff spot.  Leonardo Bittencourt and Milot Rashica are doubtful for this one. 

Eintracht Frankfurt enter this game following a much needed 2-1 away win at Wolfsburg.  Frankfurt now sit in 12th and a win here would see them escape the relegation battle once and for all.  Lucas Torro will be unavailable here as he serves a suspension and Gonçalo Paciência’s status is in doubt. 

This has been an even matchup historically, with each side taking two games and two draws over the last 6 matches.  Werder has been on a tear of late as they try to claw their way out of relegation, undefeated in their last 3 matches and not allowing a single goal over that stretch.  Frankfurt is the better side here and will be motivated to put the relegation battle in the rearview, but with Werder fighting for their lives don’t expect this one to come easy.
