Bundesliga Week 30 June 6 Betting Preview
RB Leipzig vs Paderborn
Time: 9:30 AM EST
Odds: RB Leipzig -800, Draw +750, Paderborn +1600
Last Game: 3-2 Leipzig on November 30th 2019
This game features two teams at opposite ends of the table face off when last place Paderborn visits third place RB Leipzig. Leipzig come into this game on the heels of a 4-2 win away at Köln last weekend, and are now unbeaten in their last 11 games in all competitions. The Red Bulls could move 5 points clear of fourth place with a win here. Marcel Halstenberg returns from suspension for this one. Kevin Kampl’s status is in doubt as he returns from injury.
Paderborn took one on the chin last weekend, losing 6-1 to Borussia Dortmund at home. Paderborn sit in last place, and at 8 points out of the relegation playoff spot it will take a miracle for them to escape direct relegation. Luca Kilian remains out with an injury and Gerrit Holtmann and Sebastian Schonlau are doubtful after missing training sessions.
This looks to be another tough outing for Paderborn, as RB Leipzig is every bit as lethal as the Dortmund side they lost to 6-1 last week. It was reported Friday that Timo Werner will be sold this summer to Premiere League giants Chelsea this summer and he’ll want to end his Leipzig career on a high note. The Leipzig offense has been humming of late, scoring 11 in their last 3 matches, and we don’t expect them to slow down here against relegation fodder Paderborn.
Bayer Leverkusen vs Bayern Munich
Time: 9:30 AM EST
Odds: Bayer Leverkusen +500, Draw +390, Bayern Munich -230
Last Game: 2-1 Bayer Leverkusen on November 30th 2019
What looks to be the match of the week features a red hot Bayern Munich side visit Champions League hopefuls Bayer Leverkusen. Bayer Leverkusen enters this game following a 1-0 away win at Freiburg last week. Bayer currently sit in 5th and are tied with Borussia Monchengladbach on points. A result here would see Leverkusen hop int 4th place and the final Champions League spot. Lars Bender remains out with an injury here, while Jonathan Tah will be assessed closer to gametime.
Bayern enter this game on the heels of a 5-0 drubbing of Fortuna Düsseldorf last week, marking their 10th straight win. The Bavarian giants sit atop the table with yet another title looking probable. Thiago, Jérôme Boateng and Lucas Hernández are expected to miss this one.
Expect an exciting match between the young talent of Bayer and the old guard of Bayern. Bayer is one of 4 teams to beat Bayern this year, and the last 6 matches at BayArena between these two have been evenly split with 2 draws and 2 wins for each side. Bayern is the better side here and Leverkusen has come back down to earth in the last two weeks, so expect a result for Bayern.
Eintracht Frankfurt vs Mainz 05
Time: 9:30 AM EST
Odds: Eintracht Frankfurt +100, Draw +270, Mainz 05 +250
Last Game: 2-1 Mainz 05 on December 2nd 2019
This game sees two teams in the bottom half of the table square off. Hosts Eintracht Frankfurt enter this game following a 3-0 win against lowly Werder Bremen in a midweek make up fixture from earlier in the season. Thanks to consecutive wins Frankfurt has risen to 11th and escaped the relegation battle for now. Lucas Torro returns from suspension while Gonçalo Paciência and Gelson Fernandes both continue to work towards a return from injury.
Mainz 05 enters this match on the heels of a 1-0 loss at home to Hoffenhiem last weekend. Mainz remain in 15th, one spot and a single point clear of the relegation playoff. Danny Latza is available after serving a suspension, while Ridle Baku will sit this one out after picking up his 5th yellow card.
Following their win in midweek Frankfurt have escaped the relegation battle but now sit in something of a no man’s land with 5 matches left, being 7 points out of a European spot and 8 points above the relegation playoff, so expect Mainz to be the more motivated side here. Frankfurt has been in solid form and is unbeaten in their last 3, while Mainz has struggled since the restart and hasn’t managed a win in their last 5 games. Frankfurt looks like the better team here but this should be a close one given Mainz’s motivation.
Fortuna Düsseldorf vs Hoffenheim
Time: 9:30 AM EST
Odds: Fortuna Düsseldorf +175, Draw +250, Hoffenheim +145
Last Game: 1-1 Draw on November 30th 2019
This match features two teams who are both one spot in the table below where they’d prefer to be. Host Fortuna Dusseldorf enter this game following a 5-0 drubbing away at league leaders Bayern Munich. Fortuna remain in 16th, a spot they’ve occupied since the restart, but sit only one point behind Mainz 05 and another year of Bundesliga football. USMNT keeper Zack Steffen remains out with an injury and Dawid Kownacki is doubtful as he works to return from a knee injury.
Visitors Hoffenhiem enter this game following a 1-0 win away at Mainz last weekend. Hoffenheim currently sit in 7th, tied on points with 6th place Wolfsburg but behind on goal differential, and will need a win here to keep pace. Andrej Kramaric may be available in return from injury and will be evaluated closer to game time and Benjamin Hübner is available again after serving a suspension.
Expect a close hard fought game here as both sides come into this one needing a win. These teams have only played each other five times, so there isn’t much history to work with. Hoffenhiem have been unable to secure a win in their two visits to Fortuna and will hope to reverse that trend here. These two sides have nearly identical stats over their last 6 in terms of goals for and against, and neither team looks like the obvious favorite so who emerges victorious here is anyone’s guess.
Borussia Dortmund vs Hertha Berlin
Time: 12:30 PM EST
Odds: Borussia Dortmund -280, Draw +440, Hertha Berlin +650
Last Game: 2-1 Borussia Dortmund on November 30th 2019
The final match of the day sees tow of the hottest teams in the league square off in Dortmund. Hosts Borussia Dortmund bounced back from their loss to Bayern Munich with a 6-1 drubbing of last place Paderborn last weekend. Dortmund remain in 2nd place with a 2 point lead on 3rd place RB Leipzig and a win here would ensure they hang on to 2nd place for at least another week. Star striker Erling Haaland left the Bayern game with an injury and his status remains in doubt for this one. Veteran defender Mats Hummels will also miss this game after picking up his fifth yellow card last weekend.
Hertha Berlin come into this game on the heels of a 2-0 home win over Augsburg last weekend. Undefeated in their last 6, Hertha now sit in 9th but are only 4 points back from 6th place and the final European spot. Matheus Cunha and Marvin Plattenhardt will both miss this game following concussion diagnoses.
Expect a closer game than the table positions of these two might indicate. Hertha has been humming lately and is tied for 2nd most points in Bundesliga over the last 3 games, a stretch which included a 2-2 draw away at RB Leipzig. Dortmund is the better side on paper, and Signal Iduna Park has been a tough place for Hertha Berlin to visit in fact they haven’t recorded a win in their last 6 visits. Hertha arguably have more to play for here with the title out of reach for Dortmund and their spot in next years Champions League all but assured so don’t expect anything to come easy for the hosts.
