The second semifinal match featured a rematch of the 2018 DFB Pokal final, a game that saw Frankfurt stun the Bavarian giants 3-1 to capture their 5th Pokal trophy, with a trip to Berlin to face Bayer Leverkusen on the line.

Hosts Bayern come into this game in fantastic form.  Winners of eleven straight and unbeaten in their last sixteen, Bayern are in world class form.  With no Champions League return in sight, and their eighth consecutive Bundesliga title basically in the bag at this point, expect this match to have Bayern’s full attention as they look to add another double to their league record haul of twelve. 

Frankfurt come into this game under much different circumstances.  The restart to the Bundesliga has been a choppy experience for Frankfurt as they’ve only managed seven points out a possible eighteen since play resumed.  While they have managed to escape the relegation battle for now, they now find themselves in a no mans land in the middle of the table with a European spot out of reach.

Bayern are the better side here and are expected to advance.  While they beat Frankfurt in the Alianz just a few games ago in the Bundesliga, Frankfurt did beat Bayern 5-1 earlier this year.  Bayern have won their last 5 matches against Frankfurt in the Allianz and we don’t expect that to change here.  Bayern look to be at full strength for this one, so bet against them at your own risk.
