Hosts Eintracht Frankfurt come into this match following a 4-1 away win at Hertha Berlin over the weekend.  Frankfurt enter this match day in 10th.  Lucas Torro and Sebastian Rode return from suspension for this game, while Gonçalo Paciência will be evaluated closer to game time as he works back from a muscle injury.

Visitors Schalke 04 gave up an own goal to draw 1-1 at home against Bayer Leverkusen on the weekend, their second draw in a row.  Schalke 04 enter this week in 9th.   Weston McKennie returns from suspension while Daniel Caligiuri will sit this one out due to suspension.

The Commerzbank-Arena has not been a fun place for Schalke to visit as they are winless in their last six trips to Frankfurt.  Schalke have been horrendous since the restart, collecting the fewest points in the Bundesliga over the last six games, meanwhile Frankfurt have been one of the hottest teams in the league collecting the 4th most points in the last six games.  Both sides have allowed an average of 2 goals per game since the restart, Frankfurt’s offense has been flying scoring 14 goals in that stretch while Schalke have only managed to net 3.  Either side could sneak into the race for a Europa League spot with a win here, and given their recent forms Frankfurt looks like the stronger side here.

Augsburg vs Hoffenheim

Hosts Augsburg come into this match following a 1-0 win away at Mainz 05 on the weekend.  Augsburg now sit in 14th, seven points above the relegation playoff.  Daniel Baier is listed as doubtful while Fredrik Jensen has been ruled out.

Visitors Hoffenheim fell 2-0 at home RB Leipzig over the weekend.  Hoffenheim come into this match day in 8th , just two points out of a Europa League spot.  Ishak Belfodil remains out for the visitors.

Hoffenheim have enjoyed their trips to the WWK Arena, where they’ve won four straight with three consecutive clean sheets.  Augsburg have a respectable record at home collecting the 11th most points in the Bundesliga at home, while Hoffenheim have the 7th best record on the road and are unbeaten in their last five.  Augsburg are safe from relegation while Hoffenheim need a win to stay in the mix for a European spot so expect the visitors to have the motivational advantage.  Hoffenheim have allowed the fewest goals against away from home so expect a low scoring affair with the visitors edging out a narrow win.

RB Leipzig vs Fortuna Düsseldorf

Hosts RB Leipzig enter this match following a 2-0 win away at Hoffenheim.  Leipzig now sit in 3rd, and a win here would see them open up a five point cushion on 4th place with two match days remaining.  Yussuf Poulsen remains out for this match and Ethan Ampadu is listed as doubtful.

Fortuna Düsseldorf come into this match following a 1-0 loss at home to Dortmund.  Fortuna remain in 16th, only three points from safety.  Adam Bodzek returns from suspension while Niko Gießelmann will sit out with a suspension.  

These sides have only met three times previously at the Red Bull Arena, two of those coming in the 2. Bundesliga, with Leipzig winning two and drawing one.  Leipzig have played well at home again this season and are unbeaten in their last twelve, although they have drawn their last four in a row.  Fortuna meanwhile have the worst away record in the Bundesliga and have only managed two wins on the road this year.  Sitting three points from safety with some easier matchups in the final two weeks Fortuna will be happy with any points in this one, but their focus will likely be on minimizing Leipzig’s scoring as the difference between automatic relegation and the relegation playoff may well come down to the goal differential tie breaker.  Leipzig will also be pushing for a win here to put some breathing room between them and 4th place.  Fortuna Düsseldorf have played the top sides closely since the restart and we expect them to keep this one close with Leipzig ultimately coming out on top.

Bayer Leverkusen vs FC Köln

Hosts Bayer Leverkusen enter this match following a 1-1 draw to Schalke over the weekend.  Currently sitting in 5th, Leverkusen could jump over Borussia Monchengladbach into 4th and the final Champions League spot with a win here.  Lucas Alario will miss this one due to suspension and defender Lars Bender is listed as doubtful as he works his way back from injury.

FC Köln enter this match following a 2-1 loss at home to 1. FC Union Berlin on the weekend.  Köln sit in 13th going into this match and with a seven point gap between them and the relegation playoff they look all but assured of another year in the Bundesliga.  Sebastiaan Bornauw and Dominick Drexler both return from injury while Marcel Risse and Simon Terodde are both ruled out with knee injuries.

These sides have been evenly matched in previous meetings at The BayArena, with the hosts taking three of the last six to Köln’s two with one draw between them.  Leverkusen have played well at home this year, but have lost their last two consecutive games.  Köln meanwhile have the 4th worst road record in the Bundesliga and have conceded the 4th most goals away from home.  Bayer will be hungry for a win here which would see them leapfrog Borussia Monchengladbach into a Champions League spot.  With Kai Havertz back in action for the hosts and a Champions League spot on the line expect Leverkusen to come out on top here.

Borussia Dortmund vs FSV Mainz 05

Borussia Dortmund enter this game following a 1-0 win away at Fortuna Düsseldorf on the weekend.  Dortmund remain in 2nd place and are guaranteed to finish in the top four, and with Bayern clinching another title on Tuesday they are only playing for pride at this point.  Marco Reus is listed as doubtful and will be evaluated closer to game time.

Mainz enter this match following a 1-0 loss at home to Augsburg on the weekend.  Mainz remain in 15th, and at just three points above the relegation playoff spot they will need some results down the stretch to ensure they remain in the Bundesliga for another year.  Ridle Baku returns from suspension while Edimilson Fernandes is out on suspension.  Taiwo Awoniyi remains out as he continues to recover from a concussion.

Mainz have struggled at The Westfalenstadion, only managing a single win in their last five visits in the Bundesliga.  Dortmund have been a force at home, where they have the 2nd best record in the Bundesliga and their only loss coming to champions Bayern Munch.  Mainz have performed admirably away from home this year, however they have conceded the most goals on the road in the Bundesliga.  With Bayern having already conceded the title and Mainz still very much in danger of relegation, the visitors look to be the more motivated side here however that is unlikely to be enough to overcome Dortmund’s superior quality.
