Atalanta vs Sassuolo
Time: 1:30 PM EST
Odds: Atalanta -280, Draw +440, Sassuolo +650
Last Game: Sassuolo 1 : 4 Atalanta
Watch: ESPN+
Atalanta find themselves in 4th place for the resumption of Serie A. After heading into the break unbeaten in five they now sit three points up on 5th place Roma. The hosts are expected to be at full strength after Berat Djimsiti and Rafael Toloi both recovered from injuries and are now fit to play.
Sassuolo return to Serie A action in 11th place. Unbeaten in five of their previous six they now sit six points from 7th place Hellas Verona and the final European spot. Vlad Chiriches is listed as doubtful for the visitors.
This has been a favorable matchup for Atalanta, they’ve won their last six matches against Sassuolo in all competitions. The matches played at Atalanta have been particularly physical with a combined 27 yellow cards and 5 red cards in the previous six meetings. Atalanta have the most potent offense in Serie A, scoring the most goals this campaign by a wide margin. Atalanta’s defense at home has struggled however, ranking 11th fewest in goals against. Sassuolo has been an average team offensively and defensively, but their defense has played slightly better on the road allowing the 7th fewest goals against away this campaign. Despite a stingier defense away, Sassuolo have struggled away from home this year and have only recorded three wins from fourteen matches away this year. Expect this one to be a physical match with Atalanta coming out on top.
Inter vs Sampdoria
Time: 3:45 PM EST
Odds: Inter -260, Draw +370, Sampdoria +700
Last Game: Sampdoria 1 : 3 Inter
Watch: ESPN+
Inter Milan find themselves in 3rd place for the return of Serie A. Their last two matches before the break saw them lose to 1st place Juventus and 2nd place Lazio, meaning they are now on the outside of the title race looking in. Antonio Conte is expected to have his full roster to pic from in this one.
Sampdoria return to Serie A action in 16th. Sampdoria now sit just a single point above the drop zone. Ronaldo Vieira and Albin Ekdal both participated in training this week but are unlikely to start due to lack of fitness.
Inter will be happy to host Sampdoria in the return to play as they are a side Inter has dominated at home, winning five of the last six meetings. Inter have been the 3rd best team at home in Serie A and are unbeaten in the San Siro in their previous nine Serie A matches, a run that stretches back to October of 2019. Inter has one of the best defensive units in Serie A and have allowed the 2nd fewest goals against and the fewest at home in Serie A. Sampdoria meanwhile have the 4th worst away record and only four teams have scored fewer goals on the road than them. Inter look to be too much for Sampdoria in this one.
