DraftKings Sportsbook Overview

Boston based daily fantasy heavyweight Draftkings launched their DraftKings sportsbook in New Jersey on August 1st 2018, making them the first company in the US to offer a legal mobile and online sports betting outside of Nevada following the repeal of PASPA, and they haven’t looked back since. Drafkings now operates in 6 states with more on the way, and has quickly become one of the largest sportsbooks in the US, with a product offering to match.

 

DraftKings Sportsbook Sign up bonuses

DraftKings offers one of the most generous sign up bonuses in the US.  Bonus funds valued at up to $1000 are available to new players. The bonuses for new players are two separate $500 promotions.  The first available bonus is a deposit match up to $500.  The second available bonus is a risk free bet up to $500. We will go into more detail on these below. Currently these bonuses are available to players in NJ, PA, IN, WV and IA. Unfortunately for players in NH, they are only able to receive a $25 risk free bet with no deposit match bonus.

Deposit match

New players are eligible to receive bonus fund equal to 20% of their deposit, with the total bonus funds capped at $500. In order to receive the full $500 players will need to deposit $2,500. Funds are released to your account at a rate of $1 per $25 bet.  For the maximum deposit of $2,500 you would need to place a cumulative total of $12,500 in bets. Interestingly in addition to money wagered in the sportsbook Draftkings also includes dollars played in their casino (available in NJ & PA) and DFS products towards this rollover requirement. It’s important to note that the bets placed in the sportsbook must be at odds of -300 or higher in order to count towards this rollover requirement.

Risk Free Bet

In addition to the deposit match new players will also enjoy their first bet being a risk free bet. If your first bet loses you will receive a free bet equal to your first bet, up to $500. You will then have 30 days to use this free bet. The free bet must be used on a single wager and the free bet amount will not be included in any winnings. For example a free bet of $500 at +200 would pay $1000, not the $1,500 that a cash bet would pay.

Drafkings allows players to cash out their bet before the event is finished, allowing players to lock in profits or minimize losses.

Virtual Sports

Draftkings announced a partnership with Inspired Entertainment to add virtual sports to their New Jersey book. Inspired offers 14 games including Football, Basketball, Horse Racing, Car Racing and Soccer. The company has not disclosed when they plan to launch in New Jersey, or their plans to roll out the offering in Pennsylvania.

Loyalty programs

Draftkings has offered a loyalty program in the past where players could accumulate points based off the amount wagered in both the sports book and casino.  This offer was available for a limited time and hasn’t be relaunched yet.
